Iran, over 330,000 injured in protests

Milan, 18 January. (LaPresse) – According to a report compiled by doctors in the country and cited by The Sunday Times, around 330,000 protesters have been injured in the protests in Iran. The report, based on information from a network of medical professionals across Iran, states that the injuries include widespread gunshot wounds and severe eye trauma, with hundreds or thousands of people suffering permanent blindness. Data collected from eight major eye hospitals and 16 emergency rooms cited in the report estimates the number of injured between 330,000 and 360,000. One eye hospital in Tehran alone, the Noor Clinic, documented approximately 7,000 eye injuries. One witness reported that more than 800 eye removals were performed in Tehran in a single night.
