Milan, 28 March (LaPresse) – The price rises forecast for this year compared with 2025 could total €15.2 billion: €10.2 billion linked to electricity and €5 billion to gas. This is the forecast contained in the estimates by the CGIA Research Department, assuming that ‘in 2025 and 2026, consumption by households and businesses will be in line with that recorded in 2024’. “One month on from the start of the conflict in the Middle East, energy markets have already reacted strongly: the price of gas has risen by €26 per MWh (+81 per cent), whilst that of electricity has risen by €41 per MWh (+38 per cent) (see Fig. 1). This trend will inevitably be reflected in bills, with prospects that are far from reassuring,” the CGIA emphasises in its statement.
