Fuel, Unc: “Prices rising across Italy, diesel over €2.10”

Rome, Apr. 2 (LaPresse) – “Despite oil prices having fallen yesterday, fuel prices across Italy today—on highways and in all regions except Basilicata—have still increased, both for gasoline and diesel. It is yet another demonstration of how speculation continues unchecked. We hope that tomorrow the government reduces diesel excise taxes by 40 cents, otherwise it will remain above the 2-euro limit,” said Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers’ Union (Unione Nazionale Consumatori).

According to the association’s study, which reworked today’s MIMIT data, the most expensive diesel—excluding highways where it sells for €2.144—is still in Bolzano at €2.12 per liter, followed by Friuli Venezia Giulia at €2.103, and Trento in third place at €2.096. The daily price increase record for a full 50-liter tank, costing 55 cents more than yesterday, goes to Valle d’Aosta. The most moderate regions are, in order: Lazio, Marche, and Umbria.

For gasoline, after highways at €1.827, Bolzano leads with €1.784, surpassing Basilicata at €1.782, which had previously held the record for gasoline but is today the only region without a price increase. Calabria ranks third at €1.779. The most moderate region for gasoline is Veneto.
