Ukraine: at least five killed in Russian attacks across the country

Kyiv (Ukraine), 3 Apr. (LaPresse/AP) – Russian attacks today have caused the deaths of at least five people across Ukraine. ‘The Kyiv region is once again under a massive Russian attack involving missiles and drones,’ said Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the regional military administration, in a post on Telegram this morning. According to Kalashnyk, one person was killed and at least eight others were injured in the shelling of three towns near Kyiv: Bucha, Fastiv and Obukhiv. Another person was killed in the northern Ukrainian region of Sumy after a Russian guided aerial bomb struck a block of flats. A Russian drone strike damaged a passenger bus in the southern city of Kherson, leaving the driver seriously injured and at least eight passengers wounded. Regional government officials reported that several people had been hospitalised, adding that the driver, aged 51, is being treated for head injuries and multiple fractures. Authorities reported ongoing attacks on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, which began yesterday and continued into the early hours of today. Drone strikes near the city centre left several people injured. One man died from his injuries after being taken to hospital.
