Milan, 21 Apr. (LaPresse) – ‘The Ayatollah regime in Iran had planned another Holocaust. It sought to destroy us with nuclear weapons and thousands of ballistic missiles. Had we not acted decisively, the names of Natanz, Fordo and Isfahan might have been added to those of Auschwitz, Majdanek and Treblinka’. This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the official Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The Times of Israel reports. Netanyahu added that ‘the Holocaust’ did not happen ‘because, together with our great ally, the United States, we dismantled that machine of destruction in advance. We eliminated an immediate existential threat’. “This is the essence of this campaign,” he continued, “to ensure that the lifeline of the Jewish people is never severed.” The Israeli Prime Minister paid tribute to a Druze non-commissioned officer who died in southern Lebanon last month: “Jews and Druze, side by side — together with Christians, Muslims, Bedouins, Circassians — all united in a vital mission.”
