Rome, 20 May (LaPresse) – The new provisional agreement between the Council and the European Parliament on the trade deal with the United States includes a clause concerning steel. The statement announcing the agreement specifies that “the Commission is authorised to suspend concessions on steel and aluminium products to the United States if, by 31 December 2026, the US continues to apply a tariff of more than 15% on steel and aluminium products imported from the EU”.
