Rome, 2 June (LaPresse) – A resumption of the war against the United States is ‘inevitable’. This was stated by a senior Iranian military official, at a time when talks between Tehran and Washington to bring a definitive end to hostilities in the Middle East appear to have reached an impasse. ‘The United States is demanding our complete surrender, and the Iranian nation will never surrender,’ said Mohammad Jafar Assadi, deputy commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Joint Command. ‘Without surrender, war is inevitable. So we are waiting, and war does not frighten us,’ added Assadi, according to state television (IRIB).
