Washington (US), 4 June (LaPresse) – The Republican-majority House of Representatives has voted to limit President Trump’s authority to continue the war against Iran without congressional approval. The measure was passed by 215 votes to 208, with four Republicans joining Democrats in supporting it. The resolution requires the president to withdraw US armed forces from hostilities against Iran, unless explicitly authorised by Congress, except in cases where it is necessary to defend America, an ally or a partner from an ‘imminent attack’.
