Trento, 16 June (LaPresse) – “New challenges now demand a response from the world of journalism, which has only one way to overcome them: quality. To safeguard voices and faces, to cultivate the integrity of every report and every analysis, to preserve the beauty of cultures and territories, to strengthen communities in the truth that unites us all, to harness technology without succumbing to the rhetoric of groupthink, to respect differing opinions, and never to give in to the temptation of making more profit by resorting to the poison of fake news and artificial polarisation. In these times of great change that we are experiencing, I hope that your newspaper may always be an instrument of truth, a guardian of history and memory, a source of knowledge and a catalyst for humanity.” So wrote Pope Leo XIV in his message to the daily newspaper L’Adige, which today celebrates its 80th anniversary.
