The British Mercedes driver, with a time of 1’06″113, finished ahead of the two Ferraris driven by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, who were second and third respectively, +0.236 and +0.295 behind. Fourth place went to Kimi Antonelli in the other Mercedes, +0.301 behind. The session was interrupted by an accident involving Max Verstappen, who finished fifth in his Red Bull, +0.362 behind.
