Frankfurt (Germany), Jul. 7 (LaPresse) – The body of the woman suspected of being involved in the attempted murder of Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, who was injured in the explosion that occurred in Monaco on June 29, was reportedly found near Kyiv. This was reported by the Ukrainian newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, citing local law enforcement authorities. According to the sources, the body was discovered late on July 6, and the woman had been killed by gunfire. Investigators also said that she had been outside Ukraine from March 22, 2025, until July 1, 2026. As part of the investigation, two people have reportedly already been arrested: an active-duty officer of Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) and a former law enforcement officer. The explosion, which occurred on June 29 in the Principality of Monaco, injured three people, two of them critically. According to media reports, Yermolaiev and some of his family members were among those injured. Following the attack, a large-scale manhunt was launched for the suspect, who allegedly planted the explosive device and was captured on surveillance cameras. The Principality’s authorities later ruled out terrorism, while the Monaco Prosecutor General’s Office opened an investigation into attempted murder and the placement of an explosive device in a public place. According to previous reports in the Ukrainian media, investigators are also considering the possible involvement of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), although this has not been officially confirmed. Yermolaiev, a businessman originally from Dnipro and founder of the Alef Group, was previously ranked among Ukraine’s richest men by Forbes. In 2019, he renounced his Ukrainian citizenship and acquired Cypriot citizenship. He also featured prominently in the investigative report Monaco Battalion, dedicated to Ukrainian businessmen and oligarchs who relocated to the French Riviera during the war.
