Rome, 7 July (LaPresse) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has arrived at the presidential complex in the Bestepe district of Ankara to attend the dinner for NATO heads of state and government hosted by Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Prime Minister – as seen in footage released by the Turkish presidency – was the last to arrive and, unlike the other leaders, was not greeted by Erdogan. The Turkish leader, in fact, after the arrival of US President Donald Trump a few minutes earlier, entered the building where the dinner is to be held alongside the tycoon. The summit is scheduled to begin on Wednesday morning. In the official photograph taken before the dinner began, with the NATO leaders and their spouses positioned across four different rows, Meloni appears on the right-hand side of the front row, between French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. On the same row, but further to the left and standing next to the host, Turkish leader Erdogan, is US President Donald Trump.
