Rome, 8 July (LaPresse) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met today with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara. According to a statement from Palazzo Chigi, during the meeting “Italy’s firm commitment to stand by Ukraine and to support a path leading to a just and lasting peace was reaffirmed”. The Prime Minister, it is emphasised, also “confirmed the continuation of Italian assistance to the Ukrainian people, with particular focus on measures aimed at strengthening the resilience of energy infrastructure, which has been severely affected by Russian attacks”.
