Rome, 11 July (LaPresse) – “In light of the new rules on speed cameras coming into force at midnight tonight, it should be noted that, as things stand, there are approximately 3,150 devices currently in operation because they meet the requirements for type-approval, as their prototypes are included in the list set out in Annex B of the decree. For the remaining devices – approximately 850 units – manufacturers will have to apply for type-approval of the prototype by submitting the supplementary documentation set out in Technical Annex A. Minister Salvini expressed his satisfaction, stating that the objective of road safety remains a priority, without, however, enforcement becoming a pretext for raising revenue at the expense of the public.” So reads a statement from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT).
