Rome, 12 Oct. (LaPresse) – Ukrainian authorities have reported numerous Russian attacks overnight targeting energy infrastructure and civilian areas, despite the energy truce announced by US President Donald Trump. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, said that Moscow had attacked three districts in the region ‘more than 10 times’ with artillery and drones. The attacks caused fires in the areas of Petrykivka and Mykolaiv, in the Dniprovskyi district, Hanzha added in a Telegram post shared by The Guardian, noting that no injuries were reported as a result of the attacks. Residents on several streets in Izyum, south-east of Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine, were left without power after a Russian attack damaged the electricity networks. Meanwhile, the governor of the Ukrainian region of Zhytomyr, Vitaliy Bunechko, reported that Russian forces have been “repeatedly shelling” the north of the region “since this evening”. “Railway and energy infrastructure in the Korosten district have been targeted,” he added in a post on Telegram this morning, noting that the fires were quickly brought under control.
