Rome, 27 Oct. (LaPresse) – “If Garavaglia agrees, he will join the secretariat. He has put himself on the line, unlike others who have been talking for months but who, in the end, have not put themselves on the line.” So said League leader Matteo Salvini in Bruno Vespa’s book *Storia della Seconda Repubblica. From Berlusconi to Meloni, from Prodi to Schlein’, to be published on Monday 2 November by Mondadori-Rai Libri. “I will create a secretariat that is geographically balanced, with at least one mayor and at least one representative from each region. Then, as has always been the case in the Lega’s history, whoever has secured one more vote will decide, whilst always listening to everyone else.” Responding to Giorgetti, Salvini added: “We have five out of five ministers from Lombardy and have held the regional governorship for many years. Lombardy has never been so well represented in national institutions at this level. We also have the Minister for the Economy working on behalf of businesses and local communities. I’ve been in the League since 1990; I can’t recall a force like this. If everyone worked to highlight the good things we’re doing, the people of Lombardy would certainly be happier, better informed and more engaged.”
