Milan, October 30 (LaPresse) – The Paris Police Prefecture has rejected the routes proposed by the CGT trade union and the Yellow Vests for tomorrow’s demonstration in the capital against the rising cost of living. Police have banned the route through central Paris between Bastille and Nation, while authorising a march in the suburbs between Porte de Bagnolet and Porte de Charenton. Trade unions have challenged the decision. “The Prefecture keeps sending us from one route to another,” said Unef treasurer Clara Privé during a press conference held by the inter-union coalition. “We believe these methods are unacceptable and demonstrate that the Prefecture wants to silence the voices of young people. We will do everything possible to be able to march tomorrow between Bastille and Nation,” she added. The Paris Police Prefecture has also issued an order imposing a curfew in certain areas of the capital from October 31 to November 2. The measure will be in force from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. in Place de la République and the surrounding area of the Les Halles district.
