Rome, 4 Nov. (LaPresse) – “This year, which marks the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, 4 November offers us a further opportunity to reflect on the value of unity, freedom and democracy – achievements that are part of our history and which we have a responsibility to safeguard and pass on to future generations.” So said Defence Minister Guido Crosetto in his message for National Unity and Armed Forces Day. “Without defence there is no security, and without security there is no freedom,” Crosetto emphasised, “the national unity we celebrate today therefore reminds us of the need to recognise ourselves as part of the same community, to respect our differences and to take joint responsibility for our future.”
