Rome, 18 July (LaPresse) – “The relentless rise in fuel prices has led to new record highs at the pump, with diesel, in some cases, now approaching 2.7 euros per litre.” This has been reported by Codacons, which, based on official data provided between yesterday and today by petrol stations and published on the relevant Mimit website, has produced a regional map of high fuel prices. As for self-service stations, the highest prices in Italy are charged by a petrol station in Milan, which sells petrol at 2.635 euros per litre and diesel at 2.695 euros per litre; also in the municipality of Milan, another station sells diesel at 2.442 euros per litre. The second-highest price is found in Pantelleria, where diesel costs 2.599 euros per litre and petrol 2.499 euros per litre. In third place are two other islands: in Ponza and Isola del Giglio, a litre of diesel costs 2.399 euros. The list continues with Scafati (Sa), where self-service diesel costs 2.398 euros per litre; 2.389 euros per litre in Stresa (Vb); 2.380 euros per litre in Procida (Na); and 2.349 euros per litre in Simeri Crichi (Cz). The situation is even worse on the motorways, where Codacons has analysed prices at full-service stations section by section. Here, diesel prices reach nearly 2.7 euro per litre: this is the case on the A21 Turin–Piacenza, where a litre of diesel currently costs 2.699 euro per litre, and 2.682 euro per litre on the A4 Venice–Trieste. On the A22 Brenner–Modena motorway, diesel costs 2.609 euros per litre.
