Piracy: operation against cybercrime, searches in Italy and Europe

Turin, 28 January (LaPresse) – A large-scale operation by the State Police, coordinated by the District Prosecutor’s Office of Catania and conducted in Italy and Europe, has targeted cybercrime, particularly audiovisual piracy. Searches and seizures were carried out by the Postal Police, in collaboration with Eurojust, Europol and Interpol and with the support of the @ON operational network, targeting dozens of members of a transnational criminal organisation that ran an international illegal streaming business with profits of millions of euros per month.
