Rome, 28 Oct. (LaPresse) – “The Council of Ministers has approved the 2027 budget law. It is the fifth budget law of this government and is worth a total of around 26 billion euros. I want to say that the guiding principle behind this budget as well has been to concentrate the limited resources available to us on the same priorities we have focused on over the past four years: families, birth rates, tax cuts, protecting purchasing power, incentives for employment, incentives for businesses, and citizens’ health.” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this at a press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting. “With this budget law, we are confirming all the measures included in the previous budget that were due to expire at the end of this year. This is a package of measures worth around 9 billion euros on its own,” the prime minister stressed. “For properties rented under agreed-rent contracts, the flat-rate tax rate is being cut from 10% to 5%, but for those renting at an agreed rate to a young person aged up to 35, the flat-rate tax will be 1%. This clearly means that landlords will find it more advantageous to rent at an agreed rate, and even more advantageous to offer a reduced rent to a young person, rather than charging the normal market price, leaving the property vacant or perhaps renting it out off the books. More homes on the market, lower rents and more young people able to move out and build a life of their own,” Meloni added.
