Marche regional elections, Ricci: ‘I called Acquaroli to congratulate him, it was an uneven fight’

Rome, Sept. 29 (LaPresse) – “I just called President Acquaroli to congratulate him on the result and to wish him the best of luck for his next term.” Matteo Ricci said this during a press conference, conceding defeat in the Marche regional elections to the centre-right candidate Acquaroli. “The people of the Marche have chosen continuity, and the result seems quite clear. We knew it was an extremely difficult battle. I accepted the call from many – from the party to the coalition – with a strong sense of duty. I made myself available for this project, fully aware that the path ahead was uphill and the challenge complex. But I did it with great generosity. I gave everything I had, 200%, and I believe that was evident.”
