Naples, 9 June (LaPresse) – Stefano Addeo, a 62-year-old man from Marigliano (Naples) and a German teacher, has died in hospital. About a year ago, he posted a message on Facebook in which he wished that the daughter of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni would die like Martina Carbonaro, a 14-year-old girl from Afragola who was killed by her ex-boyfriend. Addeo was in intensive care at the Ospedale del Mare in Naples, where he had been admitted on 11 May following his attempt to take his own life by jumping from the window of his home. In June 2025, Addeo had already attempted to take his own life by ingesting a large dose of medication, immediately after informing the headteacher of the school where he taught, who in turn alerted the Carabinieri, who then intervened with the emergency services. Addeo, who taught at a secondary school in Cicciano in the province of Naples, was subsequently suspended following disciplinary proceedings brought against him by the Campania Regional Education Office over the content of his Facebook post.
