Rome, 11 July (LaPresse) – “I’m proud, and I’ve got a really good feeling about this. I think we need to keep building on this team; we know what the issues are, and I’m well aware that we’ve got to roll up our sleeves, get to work and give it our all. It’s a challenge; I’ve worked with some of the players. I’ve considered everything; we know there are two or three things we need to do. The aim is to create a family atmosphere and have a team that entertains the fans and makes them feel proud.” So said Rino Gattuso, Lazio’s new manager, at a press conference on the day of his presentation. “Returning to Serie A after five years? I wanted a different path. I think you improve abroad because you combine your culture and mindset with something new. We Italians think we’re the best because we’re good tactically, but football changes quickly, and my choices in recent years have been to take a bit from everywhere to round myself off. Then the call came from the director and the chairman, and I’ve come back, but the path was a different one,” explained the former national team manager.
